10 Doctor Who Companions Who Were Better Than Their Doctors

5. Donna Noble (Catherine Tate)

If ever the show gave us a Christmas present, it was Donna Noble. Quite literally, too, since she made her Whoniversal debut in the 2006 festive escapade, The Runaway Bride, but, although she was initially irritating and one dimensional, she evolved into an incredibly likeable and layered character, so much so that she was entrusted with the mighty task of carrying her own episode (Turn Left) which turned out to be one of the best in NuWho history. It goes without saying that Donna was such a strong person that she wandered off all the time and the Doctor just had to let her. She basically got away with racism when she kept calling him €œspaceman€ all the time but he just to sit back and take it because he knew he€™d get much worse if he made the rookie mistake of trying to stop her. Wilf said she wouldn€™t make the world any better by shouting at it but she did make the show better by doing just that. Much, much better, in fact. All hail the best temp in Chiswick!
