10 Doctor Who Easter Eggs Hidden In Plain Sight

7. Classic Daleks In The Aslyum

Doctor Who Asylum Of The Daleks Special Weapons Dalek
BBC

The seventh season opener of the revived series saw the Doctor, Amy and Rory brought to the Asylum of the Daleks, a world inhabited by the worst of the worst - Daleks who had gone insane. Considering how joyous the Daleks normally are, that really is saying something. The existing Dalek Parliament sent the Doctor and his companions down there to destroy the monsters before they can escape.

While searching through the structure with the help of Oswin, the Doctor encounters a room that is even more heavily guarded. These Daleks are said to be so damaged that they can't be allowed to ever leave their cells. They are, in fact, survivors of encounters with the Time Lord himself.

There follows a nostalgic look at some of the Classic Era Dalek models, including the Special Weapons Dalek from Remembrance of the Daleks, which further ties the revival to the original series' of Doctor Who, even if it is not outright stated on-screen.
