10 Doctor Who Easter Eggs Hidden In Plain Sight

4. Almost Everything In The Timeless Children

There are several easter eggs on show in this episode, mixing in with fulfilling prophecies and nods toward Whovian continuity as a whole. Breaking them down into categories, there is the in-universe prophecy fulfilment about the Hybrid. In the ninth season, it was said that the Hybrid would stand on the ruins of Gallifrey and destroy a billion, billion hearts - something the Master does here after learning the truth.

However, if that doesn't count as an easter egg, there is the reveal of Tecteun potentially being 'The Other', one of the three original founders of Gallifrey. In a scene that shows them standing in full Time Lord Regalia, there are two figures to either side. These were confirmed to represent Rassilon and Omega, with a Don Warrington lookalike in the part of Rassilon, as a homage to Warrington's portrayal of the President in the Big Finish dramas.

Finally, the episode seems to restore the 'Cartmel Masterplan' to the franchise, even if this wasn't deliberate. During the Seventh Doctor's tenure, Andrew Cartmel strove to reintroduce mystery to the Time Lords and suggest a different origin of the Doctor, to avoid overfamiliarity with the Gallifreyans. True or false, The Timeless Children is one of the most packed episodes in all of Doctor Who!
