10 Dumbest Decisions In Buffy The Vampire Slayer

6. Seeking Revenge By Casting A Spell With Amy – Xander (Season 2, Episode 16)

Tabula Rasa Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Mutant Enemy

In ‘Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered’, Xander tries to get revenge on Cordelia (his ex-girlfriend) by persuading Amy to cast a Love Spell. Unfortunately, the whole thing backfires and causes every woman in Sunnydale (apart from Cordelia) to fall in love with Xander.

Chaos then follows. The intensity of the spell increases dramatically, and by the end of the episode, the women of Sunnydale completely lose their heads. Willow actually tries to murder Xander with an axe because she can’t bear to see him with Cordelia. Thankfully, Giles sorts out this whole fiasco by reversing the spell.

Whilst Xander didn’t intend the Love Spell to cause such havoc, his actions weren’t exactly honourable. No matter how angry he was at Cordelia, trying to get her back by using a Love Spell was immoral as well as stupid.
