10 Geek Secrets The Big Bang Theory Made Famous

3. Fellow Science Nerds

Stephen Hawking isn€™t the only high profile science nerd who€™s guested on the show (as before, we€™re using €˜high profile€™ to mean €˜high profile within the field of science€™, and not €˜Dancing With The Stars high profile€™). Brian Greene, the theoretical physicist and string theorist (a discipline that Sheldon followed in his own research until recently) appears in €˜The Herb Garden Germination€™ as himself, discussing the contents of his most recent book. Neil Degrasse Tyson and George Smoot, both highly respected astrophysicists, appear in €˜The Apology Insufficiency€™ and €˜The Terminator Decoupling€™, respectively. Smoot in particular, a Nobel laureate, contacted the show asking to cameo at some point. Finally, Ira Flatow, a radio and television journalist and author specialising in science, interviews Sheldon on his research in season three€™s €˜The Vengeance Formulation€™, while Steve Wozniak, the inventor and engineer who helped Steve Jobs found Apple, appeared in season four€™s €˜The Cruciferous Vegetable Amplification€™. Funnily enough, Wozniak actually was on Dancing With The Stars.
