10 Greatest Time Travel TV Shows Of All Time

2. Quantum Leap

Quantum Leap
NBC

Quantum Leap is a glorious creation that was able to succeed and woo audiences by never getting too caught up in its own mythology. The whole premise of the show is that there's this guy who was participating in a time travel experiment that went wrong, and he was stuck hopping from body to body in different historical settings. That's it.

A lot of other shows would have gotten bogged down with a whole bunch of pseudoscience, but Quantum Leap understood that most of the time audiences are willing to suspend disbelief and go with the flow if you give them an engaging enough story.

But Quantum Leap didn't begin and end with the concept of time travel, that was just the method through which they were able to tell really different kinds of stories, many that dealt with social issues in a way that even traditional dramas of the day were unable to tackle. Add to all this the fact that Scott Bakula is easily one of the most versatile and charismatic humans on the planet, and you've got a recipe for an all time classic television series.
