Utilising both the half-hour and full-length formats, this campaign, approaching its 20th year, has made Pokemon the 2nd most successful video game franchise of all time. Common in advertising, its rapid, colourful sequences are a full-frontal assault on the senses, so much so that one such commercial induced seizures in some consumers. Its jingles Gotta have them all refrain, is a reverential tip-of-the-hat to Slinkys iconic Every wants a Slinky.
