10 Hidden Details In Gravity Falls You May Have Missed

3. Adult Humour

It's fairly obvious Gravity Falls is more of an adult show than it is a children's show. That's not to say children can't enjoy the delightful adventure series, but nobody can deny there are certain aspects of the cartoon you may not understand until you're older. In particular, the show's humour is surprisingly mature.

In one instance, Soos claims "this room is way creepy", to which Mabel responds "not as creepy as Dipper's internet history!". Another example is when uncle Stan is giving Mabel (in Dipper's body) the 'birds and the bees' talk and Stan tells her "the pituitary gland! He may be little but he has BIG plans". Likewise, when Stan receives his hands back from an old witch, he proclaims "Shaky! Scratchy! I've missed you old rascals".

It can also be seen in the visuals. A display of the Sascrotch, a parody of Bigfoot, can be seen in the Mystery Shack. And in the episode "Headhunters", a man with a tattoo of a kitten on his palm is shown in the frame, at which point he hits his palm with his fist.
