10 Hilarious TV Sitcoms You Totally Forgot About

4. 3rd Rock From The Sun

It would be easy to say that the sitcom premise of aliens coming to Earth is a ridiculous idea. Well, until you consider that 3rd Rock From the Sun was just following in the footsteps of previous shows like My Favorite Martian, Mork and Mindy and Alf. That's not even taking into account all the animated series like Futurama.

3rd Rock From the Sun was about four aliens taking human form to conduct research on humans. What was supposed to be a relatively short mission ended up taking six seasons to complete. John Lithgow epically led the cast as Dick Solomon, the selfish and egotistical leader of the alien team.

It was a surprisingly funny show that holds up relatively well almost 20 years after the final episode aired. Naturally, some jokes are a little dated but the antics of the Solomon family are still hilarious. While 3rd Rock always had fans, it has been experiencing a bit of a resurgence in popularity thanks to streaming services.

Perhaps a reunion episode that returns the Solomons to Earth for the 20th Anniversary of the finale is in order.
