4. The Big Shootout

While the shootouts in the season's finale seemed a little undercooked, the one that rounded off the fourth episode had a much more powerful effect on the audience and was directed with considerable flair. After getting the name of the pimp who sent Irina to pawn Caspere's watch, Ledo Amarilla, Ray, Ani and Paul join a task force to raid his methamphetamine lab. Before they get close to the building they're hit by a hail of bullets from machine gun-wielding Mexican gangsters, prompting an extended shootout which quickly turns into a huge bloodbath. Highlights include corrupt cop Dixon getting a chunk of his head blown off and a final stand-off with Amarilla. Ray, Ani and Paul are the only survivors, shocked as they take in their surroundings, littered with the corpses of police, gangsters and civilians.
