10 More Great TV Shows Cancelled After Just One Season

3. Feud (2017)

My So-Called Life
FX

Feud is SO Ryan Murphy, in the same way that American Horror Story is. The show is a miniseries initially planned to be an anthology looking into famous feuds however the only one that aired was centred around Bette Davis and Joan Crawford during the production of 'What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?'.

The show featured the knockout cast of Susan Sarandon as Bette Davis and Jessica Lange as Crawford as well as Stanley Tucci as Warner Bros studio head Jack L. Warner and Catherine Zeta Jones as Olivia De Havilland. Many classic Hollywood figures featured throughout Feud which makes it an exciting, special watch.

The show wasn’t without controversy, with actress Olivia De Havilland filing a lawsuit against the creators due to them using her likeness without permission and portraying her inaccurately. However the case was dropped after the court declared that no person can ‘own history’. De Havilland went on to order a restraining order against Murphy and attempted to stop the show from further airing.

Despite this, the show received Emmy, Critics Choice, Golden Globe and Screen Actors award nominations and was initially renewed for a 10 episode second series centred around Charles and Diana until it was eventually scrapped. FX cancelled their plans for the season due to not feeling the material was right, but who knows, we could see it back again!
