10 Most Awesome Season Finales Of All Time

3. Breaking Bad - 'Face Off' (Season 4)

Breaking Bad Walt Jesse Face off
AMC

The Episode:

Part tongue in check piece of foreshadowing, the other part a clamoring call for Walter White's final tussle with unlikely kingpin Gus, 'Face Off' is so much more than a clever title: It's the best episode of Breaking Bad. Ever.

On one level, it is an exercise in tying up loose ends, sending Walter on his career trajectory of head honcho in the meth game, where his intricate planning with wily wheelchair warrior, Hector, sees him pulling off an explosive coupe.

But for all Walter's skills at climbing the blue ladder, it's the show's final moment - that lingering shot of a white lily - that shows just how low he will go in order to see a plan come together. The show would go on to achieve that rare thing: a strong series finale, but this was Breaking Bad at its baddest and best.

Best Moment:

Gus' face when he realises that his number is well and truly up is a picture, but it's his last walk out of Hector's room that is the real shocker.
