Unfinished Business contains one of the most excruciating scenes of the series, which is Adama getting beaten up in the ring. It starts when Adama sucker punches Tyrol, leading to a bout. It ends with Adama knocked down in a moment of painful humiliation. It’s a sequence no one ever wanted to see. We already knew that Adama was not invincible. Why the series felt the need to humiliate the beloved Admiral in this way is head scratching.

He does get up and then try to make a strong point, like a pro wrestling heel trying to regain heat after being buried. But the message is muddled, as he argues that friendships can be a weakness and have a negative impact on military decisions. Considering all that transpired, it sounds more like an excuse.

Lee and Kara’s issues are handled a bit better, but Kara's actions sometimes require expert psychological analysis to understand. In the end, Unfinished Business delivers no clear winner making it far from a knockout.
