10 Most Hated Parks And Recreation Episodes

Parks And Recreation
NBC

Part of what is great about Parks and Recreation is the storylines. Seeing the characters grow through their struggles and challenges is part of it. The audience wants to see characters make hard choices, make big life decisions and face the same kinds of obstacles we all go through. That is the problem with time jumps in tv shows.

We miss so much character development when a show skips a few years. While some storylines are resolved, many are simply never addressed. We may find some good jokes and hilarious setups due to the time jump, but it’s far more satisfying to see those developments. That’s exactly the problem with the season 7 premiere.

The lives of our favorite government employees have changed pretty drastically. April is more motivated in her career, Andy has a children’s tv show, and Ron has his own building and construction company. It would have been great to see these characters go through these important moments in their lives. Most fans would argue they missed what would surely have been the fun disasters of Andy's show. We would expect to see Leslie experience pregnancy, to know her kids as more than background blurs. But what’s worse is what has happened to Ron and Leslie’s friendship.

While time jumps do work for certain shows because it offers a new setting. With a show like Parks and Recreation, you don't want to miss a thing.
