10 Most Powerful Villains In Star Trek History

3. The Borg

In terms of the most iconic Star Trek villains, the Borg are likely tied with the Klingon as to who is the most instantly recognisable.

While the Klingon are just as easily the Federation's allies and they are its enemy, the Borg are a more consistently ominous force in the Star Trek world. As cyborgs who assimilate others into their ranks, the Borg's weaknesses fade with every extra alien added to their ranks, as they gain their resistances - meaning they can withstand a frankly unnerving amount of attacks.

Most famously, the Borg even briefly assimilated Captain Picard, whose tactical knowledge would go on to result in the cyborgs annihilating thirty-nine Federation ships with one lone Borg Cube in the Battle of Wolf 359.

Though Picard would be rescued, and two of the matriarchal Borg Queens would be destroyed, it's heavily implied that the Borg continued on as the galaxy's worst enemy regardless - meaning we may see them again in some of the newer Trek series.
