10 Most Satisfying TV Character Deaths Of The Past Decade

3. Gus Fring - Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad Gus Fring
AMC

Identity of Deceased: Gustavo Fring, founder of fast food chain Los Pollos Hermanos, which is actually a front for his drug empire. Portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito.

Time of Death: 'Face Off' - Season 4, Episode 13 (first broadcast 9th October 2011).

Cause of Death: Fring is lured out to a meeting with the ailing Don Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis) at his nursing home, unaware that Hector - having made a deal with meth cook Walter White (Bryan Cranston) - has a bomb rigged under his wheelchair. After it detonates, Fring survives the initial blast and attempts to walk away - but, with half his face missing, he soon drops dead.

Why It Was So Satisfying: Introduced as an enigmatic but fiercely professional figure late in Breaking Bad Season 2, Fring soon turned out to be a pure cold-blooded heel, seducing Walter back into the meth business, and soon making it clear there's no way he can leave it behind.

Of course, whether Gus is really any worse a human being than Walter is another matter - but we can't help but root for old 'Heisenberg,' as he spirals ever further down his tragic trajectory.
