Possibly one of the most iconic episodes of all time. Spencer contacted Catfish because he had been in an online relationship with Katy for six years. The pair had met on a messenger app and had been speaking on and off ever since. He then revealed that this Katy was none other than pop sensation Katy Perry.

Nev and Max understandably did not believe it to be legitimately Katy Perry and they began their investigation. Spencer sent them links that Katy apparently had sent him of unreleased songs but the hosts quickly discovered that these links did not work. The hopeful then revealed he had gone so far as to make a ring for Katy from his grandmother's emerald.

They traced Katy's phone number to a Canadian phone and her email led them to a girl named Harriet who was Canadian but had moved to the UK. This took them all the way to England with Spencer still insisting that he was speaking to the real Katy Perry. They contacted a girl who was Harriet's ex-girlfriend. However, Harriet's sexual orientation only convinced Spencer further that this girl could not be his Katy.

Harriet finally confronted Spencer and admitted everything was her but did not have the exact details of their conversations - again this convinced Spencer that she was lying.

Nev and Max tried some tough love but in the catch up it was revealed that Spencer's delusion was so strong that he emailed the Katy email after the meeting saying he still believed it was her. He has since said he accepts it was Harriet.
