10 Most Underrated South Park Characters

4. Clyde Donavan

It is easy to think of Clyde as one of the blandest characters in South Park, but that is essentially what makes him such a funny part of the show. The little Colorado town is full of over-the-top characters who are either aggressive, mean, or ridiculous, but Clyde exists outside of these archetypes, as his flaws and personality are more grounded.

One of his most prominent character traits is his vanity, which is fully exploited in the episode "The List". This character - who never had much reason to be in the show outside of enlarging the cast - suddenly became a pivotal role in this episode and fully allowed his arrogance to consume him. This was incredibly funny and would go on to be a factor of Clyde's persona from then on.

Clyde is simply a child that feels "normal" in this collection of wild students, and as such he fits into any slot that he is given perfectly. The other children treat him with a similar lack of interest, which is a source of conflict for Clyde, even going on to turn him into a primary antagonist in the Stick of Truth game.

He isn't as vibrant as the others, but his vanity combined with a sense of dullness makes him one of the more realistic depictions of an elementary school student in South Park.
