4. Dalek's Emerge From The Void Ship

There are some moments in TV and Film, where you can't help but let your inner fanboy scream with delight. Perhaps the best example of that in Doctor Who, is the very last scene of Series 2's penultimate episode, Army Of Ghosts.

During the series we were re-introduced to classic Who villain, the Cybermen, and it was no secret that they would be returning for the finale. So when the titular ghosts morphed into millions of metal men, it was a cool, albeit predictable, moment.

But then the penny drops. The peculiar void ship in the basement of Torchwood, has nothing to do with the Cybermen. Instead, Rose and Mickey are left confused and horrified when four of the deadliest creatures in the universe emerge: The Daleks!

Never before in the show's history had the two greatest Who villains met face-to-face, so the mere tease of this sent fans into overdrive. There was no reason to believe that the Daleks would be coming back for the second series of the revival after their inclusion in the first, which makes it all the more impressive that they kept this secret under wraps.

A true jaw dropping moment, emphasised brilliantly by Murray Gold's music, that sets up one of, if the not the best, Doctor Who episode of all time.
