10 Reasons You Should Give Agents Of SHIELD Another Chance
10. It's Not The Same Show It Was Last Year
To say that Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. was considered something of a misfire in its earliest days would be a huge understatement: overly snarky banter, broadly drawn characters and a weirdly impersonal aesthetic didn't help the painfully obvious fact that a weekly TV show just didn't have the budget and studio power behind it to allow it to join the ranks of the Marvel Cinematic Universe proper. Add to that the painfully forced nods to the MCU (constant mentions of New York, members of the Avengers and other characters we're familiar with but rarely see) and an early lack of anything approaching an overarching story that anyone could hang on to and Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. was quickly starting to look like it really didn't matter. However, with more and more episodes focusing on the Centipede program, Coulson's resurrection and mysterious Big Bad The Clairvoyant the series has come along in leaps and bounds to start looking like one big story featuring characters we now care what happens to and that actually feels like it's going to have an impact after all.
