10 Reasons You Should Give Agents Of SHIELD Another Chance

At first, all we really saw of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the inside of the show's designer jumbo jet, which made the show's world feel much smaller than was likely Marvel's original intent. There was the occasional crime scene populated by faceless S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and the odd cameo from Maria Hill or Nick Fury (but only in the first two episodes), but on the whole AoS initially came off as a simplistic sci-fi procedural instead of the world-expanding adjunct to the more bombastic MCU films we'd been led to expect. In hindsight, it seems foolish to have expected a full world bursting with life from the show's first few episodes, as all television series need some time to expand their mythos, characters and storylines, but Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. eventually followed through on its promise after all - if a little later than most would have preferred. Even the villains have been explored further, with the manipulative Raina becoming the main focus of Coulson and co.'s troubles and even older characters coming back (Sif, Michael Peterson) in ways not a lot of fans would have predicted. It's starting to feel like there's much more going on in Marvel's TV world than meets the eye, and we might just be about to discover what that is...
