10 Reasons The DC Animated Universe MUST Return

2. WB Still Knows How To Do Superhero Animation RIGHT

DC Universe

DC could have easily stopped producing animation and rested on their laurels after the DCAU ended. Luckily for fans, they continued turning out incredible animated content.

Let's start with TV. Since that last image of the big three of the DCAU running at the screen in JLU's finale, DC has continued to provide us with animated shows. The Batman, Krypto the Superdog, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Justice League Action, DC Super Hero Girls, and even Teen Titans Go!

More critically successful were Young Justice and Harley Quinn.

If we jump to movies, there is a tremendous line of highly acclaimed Animated Originals to choose from, including Justice League: The New Frontier, Batman: Under the Red Hood, All-Star Superman, Batman: Year One, a two part Dark Knight Returns (that is amazing!), and Superman: Red Son.

As a subset of the Originals, there is also a DC Animated Movie Universe, consisting of 15 main movies as well as several shorts that form a complete narrative, featuring the same cast and canon. These films cover many of the most compelling events of the last thirty years of DC history.

That last movie series alone makes for a worthy binge watch.
