10 Reasons You Should Be Watching The Harley Quinn TV Show
9. The Show Is Made For Adults
No matter how dark and brooding Batman and the universe surrounding the character might be, collective fans have to agree that his character and atmosphere around him is often aimed at children.
The Animated Series from the 90's had some very dark episodes that touched on very real and worrying themes, but it also had episodes where Batman and Robin fight robotic clowns and a criminal with a mustard water-gun.
Thankfully, the Harley Quinn series acknowledges this and splices together the comedic and ridiculousness of the DC Universe and elevates it with adult themed stories, and especially jokes aimed at adults.
If a kid were to stumble across the show, they might respond to King Shark and Clayface' hilarious outbursts, but the context of what they're saying would surely be lost on them. Whether it's political, social or just plain dirty jokes, the Harley Quinn series kicks itself a few runs up the ladder of intelligence by not patronising or condescending its audience.
All seriousness aside though, the Harley Quinn series exhibits the kind of gross-out adult humour once seen in animated series' like Drawn Together; where the violence is glorified, but met just as equally by the gags.
