10 Reasons You Should Be Watching The Harley Quinn TV Show

5. The Serialised Episodes Escalate And Broaden

Harley Quinn
DC Universe

At the start of the series, viewers are presented with the current status quo; Harley is Joker's girlfriend-cum-punching bag and is perpetually being thrown to the wolves (in this case Batman) as he makes another daring escape. By the end of the first episode, Harley has had enough of Joker and decides to go it alone and be her own super-villain.

As each episode unfolds, Harley's strength as a character grows as the challenges she faces come along. The series doesn't establish the world and then adventures ensue, it's semi-serialised as it takes its time to really sink its teeth into what it would take to become a super-villain in the elaborate DC universe.

The show doesn't dump all its exposition and characters onto the audience in one go either; every other episode a new key (and lovable) character is introduced, whilst still retaining focus on Harley as the main anti-hero. The narrative of the show builds to an elaborate sequence that should not be spoiled.

This is a Harley Quinn show. But it's also a DC Universe show told from Harley Quinn's unpredictable and fragrant perspective. It's worth watching just to see things from a lens as colourful as hers.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
