7. Christopher Eccleston - G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra
Christopher Eccleston is an almighty force to be reckoned with when it comes to actors who have left their mark on the world's biggest franchises. Not only has he attained a lasting legacy on Doctor Who as the Ninth Doctor, he went on to gain further cult status for his portrayal of Claude Rains in Heroes and most recently he took on the might of Thor as the malevolent, and virtually unrecognisable, Malekith in Marvel's umpteenth - *ahem* - sequel. Yes, it would seem that no universe is unconquerable for everybody's favourite post-war, guilt ridden Time Lord and, while he claims to "never bathe in the same river twice" (so that's why he wasn't in the 50th anniversary!), he is seemingly still hell bent on bathing in every single river he can get his greedy mitts on. Because why the hell not? Suffice to say, not all rivers have been worth the... erm, bathe. Such was the case with the 2009 movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra which starred Christopher as one of its leading villains, Destro (he's the leader of the Iron Grenadiers, if that means anything to you... anyone...?). The film was internationally panned by critics and fans who complained that it hardly related to the G.I. Joe universe at all. One reviewer even when as far as to say that it "butchered" its mythos while the film itself has been described as a "joyless stinker". Ouch. It's just a shame Christopher had to get caught in the crossfire.
