10 Sci-Fi TV Show Mysteries That Can Never Be Solved
7. The Baby (Lois And Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman)
After four glorious years of Dean Cain's charming Superman and Teri Hatcher's sultry Lois Lane, this show was cancelled with no warning. The very end of the last episode showed the couple (now happily married) finding a baby wrapped in the iconic blanket in their living room, with no explanation.
Some of the writers put forwards (after the show had ended) that the baby was meant to be Kryptonian royalty, sent to Earth for its protection. Of course, this simple explanation only begins to scratch the surface when it comes to TV that's based on a huge and ever expanding comic mythos. Was this baby to be based on any character we know? Could it be Lois and Clark's version of Superboy? Could it be a trick from Lex Luthor?
Given that the story had recently explored the inability for Lois and Clark to naturally have children (being different species and all), this was a rather poignant place to end and we're still waiting to have this one solved. Sort it out for us, Arrow-verse.
