10 Simpsons Theories That Make Too Much Sense To Ignore

4. Homer Still Receives Be Sharps Royalties

If Homer isn't in a coma, and he and his family's adventures aren't part of his imagination, then there is some serious explaining to do. The family have moved houses, gone on fantastic trips around the world, and made crazy investments and life changes, and in doing so must have spent a LOT of money.

But where does all this money come from? Homer doesn't exactly have the highest paying job in the world, and with no family money to lean back on, the Simpsons must have another source of income from somewhere.

The answer comes from the first episode of season five, 'Homer's Barbershop Quartet'. It is revealed that the The Be Sharps were quite successful some years earlier, putting out several records, touring Europe, and even winning a Grammy.

The group also put out a lot of merch, like silly string and pez dispensers. Thanks to this, plus album sales, there would have been a lot of royalties coming Homer's way, and there really isn't any reason to think that they have stopped. It would certainly account for all the disposable cash the family seem to have.
