10 Simpsons Theories That Make Too Much Sense To Ignore

3. Homer Still Owns The Denver Broncos

Though it makes perfect sense, the Be Sharps aren't the only potential alternative source of money coming in to allow the Simpsons the lifestyle that they lead. They have a big house, two nice cars, and five mouths to feed on only Homer's wage, but there is a single moment in season eight that may explain it all.

When Homer took a job with Globex Corporation, he confessed to his new boss Hank Scorpio that he'd always wanted to own the Dallas Cowboys. For the entire episode, despite being ultimately revealed as a super villain, Scorpio showed himself to be very fond of Homer and decided to treat him.

It wasn't the Dallas Cowboys, but it was a start. Hank bought the Denver Broncos for Homer and dropped them at his doorstep. Though Homer was disgusted at the prospect of having the Broncos instead of the Cowboys, this still would have been a lucrative source of income, since Homer was never shown to relinquish his shares in the team.

Homer took ownership of the Broncos when the episode aired in 1996, and the team went on to win the Super Bowl in both '97 and '98. Imagine the money that Homer would have received from such a span, let alone the 20 plus years that followed, with the team being worth a reported $3.2 billion in 2020.
