10 Small Details You Only Notice Rewatching Arrested Development

1. All Of The Double Entendre And Nuanced Uses Of English

The writing staff of Arrested Development must include a few Grammar Nazis and other folks who have a nuanced understanding of the English language. There are a ton of jokes spread throughout the series rife with double entendre, and while you probably picked up on a few, you may have missed quite a bit more.

For instance, whenever Gob approaches someone on his Segway, he steers the conversation away from whatever they want to talk about, to talk about something he wants to discuss. You might even say, he segues the conversation from one point to another.

Tobias was a master of double entendres, and there's little doubt everyone got the whole joke related to his use of the color blue, but there was more you might have missed. Whenever a surveillance truck or van can be seen parked or driving by, the fake company they display is always named "Blendin," as if they "blend in" with their surroundings.

These include Blendin Electric Company, Blendin Mobile Pet Grooming, Blend in Moving and Storage, and Blendin Catering. Another running gag involves the naming of ships. One is called "The Seaward," but Lucille hears this and says, "I'll leave when I'm good and ready," suggesting she thought they said the unforgivable "C-word." Incidentally, another boat Gob later purchases is named "The C-word."
