During the 1980s the United States saw itself in the middle of a crack cocaine epidemic. There were even reports of crack-smoking pregnant women passing on their addiction to their unborn children.

If that sounds like a fate worse than death, South Park did one better. When Kyle learns about crack babies, he offers to volunteer at the local medical centre. While there, he becomes suspicious when he discovers Cartman is also volunteering.

Upon investigation, Kyle learns that Cartman is adopting crack babies and pushing them to fight for drugs. When Kyle points out how sick his actions are, Cartman affirms that he has formed a company around crack baby fighting, legitimising the sport.

Even though Kyle usually condemns Cartman, he agrees to work with him when he learns how much money his company is making. Crack Baby sports becomes such a hit, EA Sports tries to cut a deal and make a video game based on it.

So, not only are the babies hooked on crack, their addiction is used as a source of entertainment so Cartman can make money.
