Identity Crisis is the atmospheric body-horror episode responsible for turning Geordi La Forge into an unnerving cross between the Invisible Man and the Lizard.

Five years prior, La Forge had been part of an away team investigating missing colonists. Now, members of that away team are going missing, and Geordi's friend, Susanna Leijten, arrives to break the disconcerting news that they're the only team members left. But not for long, as Leijten soon begins to transform into a creature with alarmingly blue veins and fused fingers.

La Forge launches CSI: Enterprise, using the holodeck to recreate the away mission logs. He makes the chilling discovery that there was an invisible lifeform in the recording...and of course, it's at that moment he starts to transform.

Before long, Geordi has become invisible to the human eye and strong enough to shove a fully grown man across the room. Operating on pure instinct, he beams to the abandoned outpost to join his fellow invisi-lizards, but a rescue party follows. Data uses ultraviolet light to make the creatures visible...but it also makes the new Geordi look absolutely terrifying, with shining blue tendrils throughout his body and glowing yellow eyes. Think glow-in-the-dark Venom...if Venom was terrified of everything.

Although Geordi seems content to scuttle around with his new alien friends, Leijten is able to talk him into returning to the ship for treatment. His adventures as the Invisible Geordi might not have lasted long, but they delivered spine-tingling B-movie vibes in the best possible way.
