10 Things HBO Wants You To Forget About Game Of Thrones

9. Re-Casting

The Mountain was introduced to us in Season 1 as a pretty big, pretty grim figure with a fearsome reputation, played by Conan Stevens. In Season 2, he was shown again, though this time it was Ian Whyte tasked with the role. Then by Season 4, the Mountain grew to the enormous shape of Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson. The Icelandic brute is 30 stone, 6'8", more than big enough for the part, but he's just one of several occasions when Thrones switched actors, whether it be forced or a creative decision. Beric Dondarrion saw a character change after he became an important figure, Tommen Baratheon switched from 'child' to 'slightly older child', and Daario Naharis suddenly flicked from long-haired blonde to rugged brunette, Legolas to Aragorn, in the blink of an eye. That's totally okay though, right?
