Fans know a lot more about the Time War since the Ninth Doctor vaguely remarked that there was a war between the Time Lords and the Daleks in The End of the World. The Day of the Doctor and The End of Time even had sections that took place during the conflict, though a true Time War story has never graced our screens to date. The novel that came out at the end of 2013, Engines of War, depicts a vicious and exhausting war of time travel that eventually tired the War Doctor out and the novel leads directly into the Fall of Arcadia, during which the Doctor finally proclaimed "No more!". A film following the War Doctor around as he fights the horrors of the Time War would be something no fan of Doctor Who would dream of missing. If not for the hallowed Last Great Time War, if not for the Daleks at their height of ingenuity and cruelty, then to simply see the often mentioned but never really shown reputation he had of being a warrior steeped in the blood of his foes. The the War Doctor spent most of The Day of the Doctor dealing with the aftermath of the killing and bloodshed and, while a warrior Doctor could be jarring for viewers, it would be welcomed nonetheless. Additionally, getting to actually see the creatures name dropped by the Tenth Doctor in The End of Time, such as the Hoard of Travesties and the Nightmare Child, would be pretty neat, too.
