Trevor Noah is funny. Ridiculously funny. The Daily Show presenter's job requires a lot of skills, from the ability to front a Comedy Central series, to having the energy to work on an episode every day of the week, and still remain as sharp and insightful as you need to be to front a satirical new programme. But above all, what a Daily Show presenter needs is the ability to make people laugh. Especially when it's often on topics which aren't, on paper, particularly funny. That's something Noah is particularly adept at, with his appearances as a stand-up guest on the Tonight Show and The Late Show With David Letterman (making him the first South African comedian to do so in both cases, FYI) including plenty of jabs about the cultural differences between the two countries. As well as being actually hilarious. And audiences tend to agree, having gained a rapturous response for both those talk show performances, his appearances on panel shows in the UK, and the record-breaking tickets and DVD sales for his South African tours. He's a very, very funny man with a relish for turning controversial topics into laughs.
