10 Things You Only Notice Rewatching Schitt's Creek

4. The Framed Open Mic Flyer

Schitts Creek
CBC Television

During Season 4, Patrick and David become increasingly worried when Rose Apothecary falls into a slump, urging them to brainstorm for a way to boost business. After mulling it over, Patrick organises an open mic night at the shop to encourage new customers to come.

Even though Patrick's idea is a major success, that's not the biggest takeaway from this episode. While Patrick performs at the open mic, he uses the opportunity to sing about his love for David, publicly showing his affection for his partner for the first time.

Up until this point, David was extremely private with his love life so it was wonderful to see him being swept up by Patrick's adorable gesture. Not only did David become far more open with his relationship with Patrick after this, he had the Open Mic flyer framed in their apartment to commemorate this touching moment. Even though the flyer appears in the background in a number of episodes, it's never mentioned, making it easy to miss. But once you notice it, it makes you love David and Patrick more than ever.
