10 Times Doctor Who Daleks Appeared Where You'd Least Expect Them

6. The Daleks Vs. Daffy Duck

Looney Tunes Back in Action attempted to recapture the magic of live-action/animation hybrid Space Jam back in 2003. It didn't have that film's success or anything like Space Jam's star draw. Despite the many talents of Brendan Fraser, he's no Michael Jordan. The plot revolved around Daffy Duck going solo after falling out with Bugs Bunny. He teams up with Brendan Fraser's Warner Bros. security guard to track down the man's missing father and the mythical blue monkey diamond.

It's an odd meta-movie that essentially pitches Bugs and Daffy as living characters within a cartoonish, but recognisable real world. Weirder still, it was directed by Joe Dante who is no stranger to meta-comedy after Gremlins 2, though the director says he had a pretty bad time making Back in Action.

If things weren't strange enough, the Daleks turn up to attempt to exterminate Daffy, Bugs and Brendan Fraser. The Daleks that appear are the movie props from the Cushing movies, joining other villainous aliens in the Acme laboratory. According to an unsubstantiated rumour, their appearance was at the insistence of Steve Martin, who played the villain in the film.
