10 Times Lazy Writing Ruined Netflix's You Season 2
4. The Antagonist Being Shot By An Off-Screen Character At The Last Second Cliche
You know who was really annoying throughout the entirety of this season? Forty.
You know who anyone watching this show would predict is going to die? Forty.
You know who dies in a TV and film cliché older than time itself? You guessed it.
So, we reach the big showdown. Forty summons Joe to Anavrin to confront him, after having spoken to the psychiatrist who Joe framed in Season One. Now utterly convinced that Joe was behind the murder of Guinevere Beck, a mentally unstable Forty is ready to take justice into his own hands.
As Joe and Love arrive at the store, Forty pulls out a gun and points it at Joe. Love tries to make Forty reconsider by telling him that she’s pregnant with Joe’s baby. However, this doesn’t work and Forty continues to advance at Joe.
This is it. Looks like it’s all over. Joe and Love are out of ideas. Forty has a gun and he’s not going to be stopped. He raises the gun, gets ready to squeeze the trigger and… BANG! Forty drops dead.
Coming as a surprise to absolutely no one, Forty has been shot by an off-screen character, revealed to be Officer David Fincher. What a twist!
