10 TV Seasons That Are Practically Flawless

1. The Leftovers: Season Two

Criminally under watched and perhaps the most underrated show of all time, The Leftovers is pretty perfect from start to finish but where Season One takes a couple episodes to find its footing and it can be argued that Season Three rushes to the end ever so slightly, Season Two is without faults entirely.

Focused around a world where 2% of the planet's population vanished without a trace, The Leftovers is a show about grief, loss and depression that is smart and exceptional throughout. Season Two sees the Garvey family move to Texas and with it revitalises the show in several fascinating ways.

The performances are all incredible. Carrie Coon and Justin Theroux are phenomenal as the show's protagonists. They are bolstered by strong supporting performances from Ann Dowd, Christopher Eccleston and a season debuting Regina King who is unsurprisingly amazing.

The Leftovers knows exactly when it needs to lean into the realistic drama and the weird unexplainable almost science fiction elements, but both aspects meld perfectly together to make a concise and impacting narrative. The show will emotionally level you and then build you back up to knock you down again.

The show is Damon Lindelof's masterpiece and should be required viewing for anyone with a love for well written drama and Season Two is about as close to perfect as you can get.
