10 TV Shows Star Trek Actors Want You To Forget

2. Game Of Thrones - Alexander Siddig

Game Of Thrones Prince Doran
HBO

When Alexander Siddig was cast in Game of Thrones as Prince Doran Martell of Dorne, there was huge fan excitement surrounding the announcement. He was contracted for all of the fifth season and for four episodes of the sixth season. However, in the gap between seasons five and six, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss called him to let him know that his character would be killed off in the first episode of the sixth season.

Siddig was less than pleased about this, saying that this was an example of HBO playing games with the actors and the audience. He even accused them of deliberately leaking their own material to drum up interest and play with expectations. For his own part, he also wondered in a Vanity Fair interview if the excitement surrounding his casting was what led to his demise.

Regardless of the reason, he seems to have switched from a fan of the show to barely wanting to speak about it. He joins other actors like Ian McElhenny, Conleith Hill and Charles Dance in being less than thrilled with Thrones as it went along.
