10 TV Shows That Deserved To Become Cult Hits (That Didn't)

4. Franklin & Bash

While it may not have been as straight a dramatic take on the court room genre as the likes of Suits, Better Call Saul, and many of the other eventual legal hits that have graced the small-screen over the years, TNT's Franklin & Bash did still pack a few emotional punches.

But it also fully embraced the fun and playfulness of two questionable lawyer pals doing everything they could to make a splash in the world of law.

Delivering four joyous seasons of witty back-and-forths between Breckin Meyer's Jared Franklin and Mark-Paul Gosselaar's Peter Bash, not to mention another absolutely stacked ensemble cast featuring Kumail Nanjiani, Malcolm McDowell, Rhea Seehorn, and Reed Diamond, it's easy to forget that this particular slice of legal dramedy was bringing in 3 million viewers for a season premiere at one stage.

That number had dropped to a disappointing 975,000 viewers by Season Four's finale, admittedly.

Yet, it's clear that those who had stuck around were hugely invested in the buddies' journeys from streetwise lawyers to fully fledged firm partners. Which makes the fact that Franklin & Bash eventually faded into obscurity entirely and didn't become a frequently revisited source of cult comedy in the years post-cancellation a bit of a surprise, in all honesty.
