10 TV Shows That Should Have Quit When They Were Ahead

There once was a time when The Walking Dead and Game Of Thrones were going toe to toe as the best TV show of the decade. Despite both shows featuring here, it’s still very clear that The Walking Dead lost that duel.

Game Of Thrones’ drop in quality was rapid, like the dagger in Dany’s heart. The Walking Dead’s was slower, more insidious, like the virus consuming the titular zombies.

Season 7 & 8 are particularly considered to be low points for the show, though Season 9 did offer some redemption, if you’re still watching.

The main issue though is that there’s a lack of focus. This isn’t Seinfeld; it needs to be about something. Everything builds then fades away and the cycle continues without too many people getting particularly invested in it.

Watching The Walking Dead is unpredictable these days, and not in a good way. You might get a fantastic hour of television, or be made to sit through boring filler. There’s just no way of knowing.

Like Michael Scott and The Office, the show feels like it needs Rick. Without him, it’s not the same show, and they could have ended well before he left if they’d resolved any of their various villains satisfactorily.

There’s been plenty of opportunity for wrap up, but the show has been endlessly marching forward aimlessly, hungry for viewers.
