10 TV Shows Totally In Denial About Being Over

4. Grey's Anatomy

Somehow, Grey's Anatomy has just entered its eighteenth season, which is too long for any show, let alone a medical drama that currently only has three of its original cast members on the payroll.

Following the personal and professional hardships of Dr. Meredith Grey, the series has morphed and changed itself so much over its run that it's almost unrecognisable to the show it once was. It's also been weakened by its occasional trips into all-out melodrama, tacky emotional fan service, and repetitive twists.

Like many of the shows on this list, Grey's Anatomy has made for great TV during its run, particularly when you remember the relationship of Meredith and McDreamy (cruelly cut short, signalling the show's drop in quality) and its early run's originality, but it's been running for so long now that there isn't anywhere else for it to go.

There's no news on how many years it's got left in it, but if we're being totally honest it should have been let go long before it killed Derek Shepard in a desperate attempt to shake things up.
