7. The Office & Scrubs
Initially running from 2000 to 2009, Scrubs was an incredibly popular and unique TV show. Not only did it walk the tightrope between goofy fun and emotional trauma, it has been widely regarded as the most accurate medical series on TV.
A lot of effort went into crafting it as such, including having the real-life doctor JD (Zach Braff) was based on being on hand as a consultant, but also the fact that the first eight seasons were filmed not on a traditional set, but in an actual abandoned hospital. The realism is undeniable.
Said hospital was then used not just in one of the biggest sitcoms of all time, but in one of its greatest and most iconic moments. This was the season five finale of The Office, wherein Jim and Pam (John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer) found out that they were pregnant with their first child.
The episode was released in the same month, just days after the first Scrubs series finale, before it was renewed for the ill-fated ninth season. Ultimately being demolished four years later, the North Hollywood Medical Centre played a big part in two of the biggest comedy shows of the noughties.
