10 Upcoming TV Shows That Are Already Doomed

1. Peacemaker (Season 2)

James Gunn's Peacemaker was nothing if not a major breath of fresh air when it premiered two years ago - a witty, hilarious, brilliantly cast R-rated spin-off from Gunn's The Suicide Squad film which ranked among the finest DCEU content to date (a low bar, admittedly).

Fans have been chomping at the bit for a second season ever since, but Gunn's busy slate - including not only Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 but also the upcoming Superman: Legacy - has kept him from forging ahead with it.

Gunn did however recently confirm that he's "over halfway" through writing the script for Peacemaker season two, and that it will get made after Superman: Legacy.

But with Legacy due to start filming in March 2024 and likely to take up Gunn's time and attention for the remainder of the year, it's unlikely that shooting will begin until at least late 2024 at the earliest, if not 2025.

And so, there's a very realistic possibility that Peacemaker's second season won't premiere until late 2025 or even 2026, around four years after the first season premiered.

That's... a brutal gap between seasons, and as fantastic as the first volume of episodes were, such a large chasm of time between seasons may result in more impatient, casual fans losing interest altogether.
