10 Weird Early Performances By The Walking Dead Actors

7. The Blob (Jeffrey DeMunn)

In some cases, the appearance in The Walking Dead seems like something of a career left-turn. For others, it seems like a part they were born to play. Which isn't to say Jeffrey DeMunn seems as irritating as Dale frequently was before meeting his untimely demise in the show, just that the dude had a track record for appearing in genre stuff. Surely the nadir of that B-movie career has to be the unwanted, unwarranted 1988 remake of fifties black-and-white The Blob, a film directed by the man best known for helming The Mask and The Scorpion King. An aueteur if ever there was one. A much younger-looking DeMunn plays the sheriff tasked with dealing with the alien blob. And rather unceremoniously gets absorbed by the big goopy menace off screen. Yeah. There's really no reason to watch the eighties Blob €“ there's no Steve McQueen, for one thing €“ but what's interesting is the script was co-written by Frank Darabont, future original showrunner of...The Walking Dead.
