7. Morty's Original World

Typically there have been very few dimensions that Rick and Morty have ever gone back to, and even fewer storylines that have threaded through several episodes and even seasons. Morty’s original dimension however, is both.

Way back in the first season of the show, Rick destroyed the world in Rick Potion #9 when a love potion and two ill-advised antidotes mixed to cronenberg the entire world. This was when he and his grandson found an identical dimension in which their counterparts recently died, so they could slip into their place without anyone noticing.

They had to bury their alternate-universe bodies in their backyard, knowing that going about their everyday lives they were mere feet away from their own decaying corpses. Morty eventually took Summer to see the remnants of his first home to show her how little Rick cares about his family, a move which resulted in the deaths of Beth and Summer, leaving Jerry alone.

Jerry wasn’t revisited until the opening of season six when Morty was sent to his original universe. His dad was now a lone survivor in a dead world, until Rick Prime showed up and killed him, potentially introducing himself as the new big bad of the show. What a ridiculous ride!
