10 Worst Doctor Who Villains

4. Abzorbaloff

I'm sure there are plenty of you reading this entry wondering how on earth this abomination isn't at number one. Then again, maybe you like the Abzorbaloff. In which case, each to their own. While I will admit this creature is awful, it's clearly not the complete worst of the bunch. But it is an embarrassing remainder of how wrong villains can be utilised.

The saddest part about the Abzorbaloff is it was invented by a child during a Blue Peter competition. That said, it still doesn't make this monster any less ridiculous. Then again, there was nothing preventing Russell T Davies doing something interesting with this children's design, considering the monster could literally absorb its victims. That, in itself, is rather horrifying.

Shamefully, the Abzorbaloff is played off as a massive joke, pushing poor Peter Kay to undergo the worst performance in his long, talented career. Basically, you know you've screwed up when the actor playing the role shows demonstrates a clear sign of regret. Love & Monsters as an episode really does no favours for the Abzorbaloff, throwing away so many enticing ideas about an innocent individual becoming obsessed with The Doctor, who slowly discovers the darkening nature of his adventurous lifestyle, for the sake of a half-baked narrative that takes none of its core ideas seriously.
