10 Worst Episodes Of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
9. The Gang Wins The Big Game
The plot of The Gang Wins the Big Game is as simple as the title makes it out to be.
In this episode, Frank treats The Gang with tickets to watch the final of the Super Bowl. The cast of the outing is full of side characters, including the Waitress, Jack Kelly and our favourite street rat Cricket. It has some merit but ultimately falls flat.
There are plenty of moving parts to this outing. Dee having pink eye, Frank with a kidney stone and the general connection with the episode Charlie's Home Alone (which we will get to later) are all good setups. Still, in general, the majority of the character motivations all reflect around using superstition to get the Eagles to win the game. This alienates anyone who isn't an American Football fan.
Bringing the supporting cast into the spotlight is the only thing that helps this episode feel particularly special, but it comes at the expense of the show's standard structure.
It's entirely inoffensive, but in a series so wild and hilarious that makes it stand out as dull.
