10 Worst Family Guy Episodes
1. Herpe, The Love Sore
Pushing the envelope is a staple of Family Guy, but that's not always a good thing, as viewers can tell when the show is forcing itself to be gross and provocative for the sake of it. You get plenty of that here, but to make matters worse, it also commits the cardinal sin of being boring.
This episode has two plots, with one following Peter and his friends as they lose their favourite booth, and the other showing as Brian and Stewie become blood brothers, leading to Stewie catching Brian's herpes, which he'd kept secret. That's right, a baby with herpes, classic stuff.
It should go without saying that concealing the fact you have herpes is reprehensible. Still, the episode struggles with its morals, as Brian ends up suffering very few consequences for his actions, save for losing out on a couple of dates.
Besides pushing Brian far over the unlikeable mark, the episode also focuses too much on gross imagery, making the humour feel uninspired and cheap. Plus, with the lack of a compelling storyline and unique humour, it also becomes a run-of-the-mill outing with no personality.
It's the kind of episode that makes you forget why you loved the show in the first place.
