All of the people who sit and watch the live tapings of Big Bang Theory are dreadful. I guarantee, if you watch it and listen for every time there's a pop culture reference - which, by jingo, there are a fair few of - there will be a significant and extremely vocal section of the audience who find it so intensely exciting that someone has just said the name of a programme that they have also watched, and which is in all likelihood watched by millions of other people, that they scream with helpless laughter.

These people need assistance. It just serves to highlight the gap between where it thinks it is and where it actually is on the LOL-o-meter.
